Buying Seeds in a Market Place

(in my dream in early hours of June 6, 2025)

Durga and I found ourselves in a marketplace, not entirely sure where it was! Perhaps it was somewhere in the USA because we had just returned from our short trip of about a month and a half in Santa Clara, California. My son used to take us to a different place every weekend unless we declined. After all, we only had six weekends at our disposal to explore one of the vast countries of the world. During our stay, we visited Pier 39 marketplace in San Francisco, which is just about forty-five minutes to an hour from his home.

All of a sudden, Durga wanted to buy some seeds, probably to take them back to Bengaluru.

"What seeds do you want to buy?" I asked her.

"Cont... and...," she said from a little distance away from me. She was busy looking at various shops.

"Cont... what?" I enquired, as I didn't hear the names correctly.

"Okay, first you stand in the queue," she told me. I somehow guessed she wanted to buy "Sunflower and Castor seeds" despite her voice being corrupted by the noise in the marketplace. However, I wasn't able to recollect the English names of the seeds. I didn't expect the person at the counter to understand Telugu words! I have no idea how my mind suddenly came up with the names of the seeds she wanted to buy.

There were three or four people in front of me before I could get to the counter. As my turn came, I found myself at the counter. Now, I had to state the exact English names of the items we wanted to buy. I tried to convey the names of the seeds but couldn't articulate them in English. After some time, I found myself away from the counter with a large number of people in front of me in the queue. How? I have no idea how I was pushed back in the queue. Soon, Durga and Akhil joined me. I noticed that the queue was growing in front of me instead of shrinking! However, the queue in front of me suddenly vanished because the front portion of it turned out to be for boarding buses. How did buses suddenly appear there? Do buses also come inside the marketplace? Or was the seed counter queue extended into the bus stand? I have no idea which was true. Once many people in front of me left the queue, I was glad to notice that we were only a few persons away from the counter.

So, did we buy the seeds at all? I have no idea, as my dream came to an end abruptly.
